SUMMARY:FFE Eco-Speaker Melissa Vatterott, Policy Director at MCE, ONLINE VIA ZOOM
DESCRIPTION:Melissa Vatterott to present “Missouri’s Environmental Policy Landscape & How You Can Take Action To Care For Our Common Home” March 14 via Zoom\nMelissa Vatterott, Policy Director of the Missouri Coalition For The Environment, will speak during the free FFE Eco-Series event for March. The evening of Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 6:30 Central, Melissa will present “Missouri’s Environmental Policy Landscape & How You Can Take Action To Care For Our Common Home” online via Zoom. A discussion will follow for those interested in remaining online.\nMelissa will share updates on this session of the Missouri Legislature as it relates to public health and the environment, answer questions, and provide ways to take action on bills that are moving. She has been involved with the Missouri Coalition for the Environment (MCE) for 10 years. She uses her law degree, a bachelor’s in environmental science, and a minor in agricultural economics to lead the MCE’s policy department. She works with federal, state, and local elected officials and agencies to address environmental justice and health equity issues impacting Missouri.\nScroll down to begin the Zoom registration process to attend online. Due to low registration numbers, the in-person presentation at Tau Center in Kirkwood has been canceled.\nUpon Zoom registration, you will receive an email response that contains a Zoom link. Please save and flag/star this email so you can find that link to log in on the evening of March 14 at 6:15 pm (the presentation begins at 6:30, but we ask everyone to log in at 6:15 in case there are difficulties). We will attempt to email reminders to Zoom registrants one day and one hour before the event that will also contain the link, but they seem to be inconsistent in delivery. When you log into Zoom, you may go into a “waiting room” — your patience is appreciated.\nFranciscans For Earth is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Their free, monthly, Eco-Film & Speaker Series was created to educate, advocate and collaborate on behalf of Our Common Home and all of its inhabitants.\n
