The governing leaders in a religious community are called forth by the members. There are three members on our community Leadership Team. The primary leadership tasks are to give direction, preserve the common heart, promote the common good and assure fidelity to the mission of the congregation. The Leadership Team calls the Sisters to live the Gospel at every stage and to proclaim it personally and congregationally with a clear message.
What gives these Sisters life as a leader in the Congregation?
The primary task of Franciscans today is to develop and articulate a transformative vision and call others to live in right relationship with each other and the Earth. I am humbled to listen to the Spirit of the Lord and lead my Sisters in this great mission. It takes a lot of quiet to lead.
-Sister Renita
As a leader among leaders I believe that as women religious we have something beautiful, true and life giving to offer to the world. Through our Common Heart and communal discernment we can make bold inspired choices to serve the Mission of Jesus and use our productive energy to bring hope and joy to all creation. This excites me and gives me life each day, each moment.
– Sister Rosalie
Entering a role in leadership is answering God’s call and my Sisters’ call to tend to the heart of the world prayerfully, prophetically and courageously. Every day is ministering to what God wants and my Sisters and the world need.
