10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’ Outdoor Prayer Service
Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’ with an Evening Prayer Service at Walker Lake in Kirkwood Park May 28
Gather your friends and join the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in prayer to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the encyclical by Pope Francis entitled Laudato Si’. We will meet and pray during the golden hour outdoors at Walker Lake in Kirkwood, MO, on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 pm. Laudato Si’ Week is May 24 -31, and we join people from around the world in commemorating this encyclical on climate change and our common home that stands on millennia of Catholic teaching about creation.

We will meet at the lake parking lot in Kirkwood Park and proceed to Walker Lake together. Enter Kirkwood Park from Geyer Road or Monroe Avenue for easiest access. See the red star on the map for our intended gathering location. The area we will be using is wheelchair accessible and only a short distance from the parking lot. All are welcome.
Register at www.fsolph.org/events/ (We do ask that you please sign up with all contact information, so that we can easily contact you in case of inclement weather. This also allows us to send you an email reminder one day and one hour before the event.)
Upon registration, you will receive an email response that contains the map to our meeting location. Please save and flag/star the email response, so you can find it the evening of May 28. The prayer service begins at 6:30, but we ask everyone to plan to arrive by 6:20 in case there are difficulties finding our group. We will try to send email reminders containing the map to registrants one day and one hour before the event. We have heard, however, that sometimes these do not go through.
This event is free and sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help through their Franciscans For Earth (FFE) movement outreach. The Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help created FFE many years ago with the goal to educate, advocate, and collaborate on behalf of Our Common Home and all its inhabitants. Any donations are humbly appreciate. They help us continue making these opportunities possible.
