Jan 9 FFE Eco-Speaker Jean Ponzi IN-PERSON AT TAU CENTER: “Climate Change-Culture Change”

Jean Ponzi, to speak on “Climate Change–Culture Change” at Tau Center January 9th at 6:30

Register today to join the Franciscan Sisters and one of their most popular speakers, plant ally Jean Ponzi of the Missouri Botanical Gardens, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 6:30 in the evening. The first Franciscans For Earth Eco-Series Event of 2024 will take place in the Assisi Room at Tau Center in Kirkwood, MO. Gather with St Louis community members as the Sisters welcome Jean and her live presentation of “Climate Change–Culture Change.”

Jean will explain how facts, myths, and opportunities related to Earth’s climate and our species include key concepts of weather and climate, greenhouse gases, carbon footprints, and policy options. She will share how perspective on human patterns of environmental and social impacts can show paths to just, responsible action, and she has many local examples that offer courage to engage and persist in change-making. Discussion will follow.

Jean serves as Green Resources Manager at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St Louis. A 28-year veteran of the Garden’s EarthWays Center team, Green Jean currently applies her sustainability expertise as manager of the St Louis Green Business Challenge, operator of the Garden’s Green Resources Info Service, and on the leadership team for the regional initiative BiodiverseCity St Louis. Her enviro-interview show Earthworms has logged over 33 years of conversations through KDHX St Louis Independent Media — part of her volunteer community service. Jean is in demand as a speaker, writer, and media spokesperson, offering her audiences both practical options and ecological inspiration.
