Foundation Day Prayer Service & Rose Ceremony
Did you have a special Sister in the Community?
HONOR HER ON FOUNDATION DAY
On May 27, we will gather in prayer and song at Resurrection Cemetery in St Louis in celebration of our Foundation Day in 1901. A touching part of the ceremony will be the placement of a fresh red rose at the grave markers of each of our dear, deceased Sisters. We would be happy to place a rose for you at the resting place of your Special Sister — we kindly ask for a donation to offset the cost. Leave a voicemail for Sister Connie at 314-965-3700, x109, with your contact information, and she will get back to you to make arrangements. You may also email her at info@fsolph.org
We understand that our Sisters are also your daughters, sisters, cousins, aunts, coworkers, caregivers and teachers. We thank you for sharing their time on earth, their many talents and gifts, and their compassion and joy, with us and with the world. When a Sister passes on to her eternal life with God, we join you in your grief. We continue to celebrate each Sister’s life and legacy, as we include in her special Community prayer, especially on the anniversaries of her death and the Community’s founding.
We know that many of you who are nearby and able, visit your Special Sister at our Community’s final resting place in section 28 of Resurrection Cemetery in Affton, MO. We invite you to join us and pray with us at 2:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, May 27. When you reach the large, main gates of Resurrection Cemetery near the offices at 6901 Mackenzie Rd (across from Rhodes Drive), enter and take an immediate left, and stay left for 1/2 mile. Our large black marker with Our Lady of Perpetual Help, as well as the final resting places of all of our Sisters, are a fair distance off the road on your left, right before the road forks. The markers are flush with the ground, making them a bit difficult to see.
Bring your lawn chairs (and perhaps an umbrella or something for sun protection), dress for the weather, and join us in song and prayer! Please register so that we may contact you in case weather forces changes.
