Revised* 3/15 via Zoom– Paving Paths: Sitting with Mary & Francis
Our Paving Paths series returns via Zoom!
We learn much when we sit with those we love. Register today to join us via Zoom as we sit with Mary and Francis. Experience their presence and learn how their journey is also our journey as we present Paving Paths for Peace & All Good: Sitting With Mary & Francis.
Be Still and Know that I am in the Quiet. Our spirit longs for a slower pace, quiet moments, the chance to sit and be with those we love. The pandemic may have deepened this desire. It may have also taught us we don’t know how to do this.
How do we learn to do this? We can learn from Mary who pondered all things in her heart and from Francis who always said that above all else we need to pay attention to the Spirit of the Lord deep within us. On this evening we will spend time with Mary, with Francis, and will sit and encounter the Lord reflecting on our own experiences.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are cancelling the in-person session, and rescheduling the Zoom session to take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 beginning promptly at 6:30pm Central. Join Sister Renita, Sister Connie, and friends for another evening of stories from the life of St Francis of Assisi with lessons that are as pertinent here today as they were in 12th century Italy. All are welcome, and this program is absolutely free.
Register today to receive the Zoom link to join. Please register with the email address of the computer, tablet or smartphone you plan to use, so that the link is easy to locate on the chosen device. Once registered, watch for a return email that will contain the link to join the Zoom session on the evening of Tuesday, March 15. Please flag, star or somehow mark this email so that you can easily find it back. We ask that you click the Zoom link by 6:15 that evening if possible, so there is time to work out technical issues, and we can begin on time. We program the website to send out reminders one day and one hour before the event, but we are told that this does not always work correctly, so please save your initial response email.
Sister Renita is originally from the Effingham, IL, area and has ministered with the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in many capacities. She currently serves as Minister General for the community. In 2018, Sister Renita created the Paving Paths for Peace & All Good storytelling series. Each presentation looks at a story from the 13th century life of St Francis of Assisi and helps identify lessons that can help us live more peacefully and joyfully in the 21st century. Themes previously discussed include Francis and the Wolf, Sharing a Picnic with Saints Francis & Clare, Sowing Seeds with St Clare, Finding Joy in Chaos with Francis and Brother Leo, and Francis & the Sultan “Encountering Them.”
