Pilgrimage of Peace & Hope for Creation Outdoor Prayer Service

Celebrate the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope for Creation with us as we join in a prayer pilgrimage around Walker Lake in Kirkwood Park on October 1

Gather your friends this fall and join the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in prayer as we make a Pilgrimage for Peace & Hope for Creation. Before he died, Pope Francis declared 2025 as the Jubilee Year of Hope for Creation. We plan to celebrate outdoors during the golden hour at Walker Lake in Kirkwood, MO, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 6:30 pm.

We will meet at the lake parking lot in Kirkwood Park and proceed to the dock at Walker Lake together to begin our .4 mile (1000 step) pilgrimage along the paved path near the water’s edge. All are welcome.

Enter Kirkwood Park from Geyer Road or Monroe Avenue for easiest access. See the red star on the map for our intended gathering location. The area we will be using is wheelchair accessible and only a short distance from the parking lot.

Register today!

Scroll down to register below (at www.fsolph.org/events/). We ask that you please sign up with all contact information, so that we can easily get in touch if plans change due to inclement or dangerous weather. If that were the case, we may decide to move the event to our Tau Center offices. Tau Center is at 335 S Kirkwood Rd between KinderCare and the American Legion along South Clay. We are directly behind the PNC Bank building which is across the street from Mod Pizza. Enter on the east side of the building under the covered porch. There is also an accessible entrance and parking on the southwest corner across from KinderCare that is kept locked. Contact a Sister or call Tau Center at 314-965-3700 ext 100 to be let in.

Upon registration, you will receive an email response that contains the map to our meeting location in Kirkwood Park. Please save and flag/star the email response, so you can find it the evening of May 28. The prayer service begins at 6:30, but we ask everyone to plan to arrive by 6:20 in case there are difficulties finding our group. We will try to send email reminders containing the map to registrants one day and one hour before the event. We have heard, however, that sometimes these do not go through.
