An excerpt from Psalm 33:
For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathered the waters of the sea as in a bottle;
he put the deeps in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
As we experience a changing of the seasons, and new life begins to be seen across the Earth, it’s good to take a moment to pause and reflect on how great our Creator is.
In our world of technology, traffic jams, news of violence and anger and mistrust, it is helpful to set down the smartphone, put the remote control away, and back away from the computer. The time for planting approaches. Planting of seeds in the garden, and also seeds of faith in God’s children.
Go ahead, get your hands in the soil. Feel the earth, and the texture of the flower or vegetable that you place into the ground. This is the creation that God made for us, and all of His creation points to the Gospel message of death and rebirth – for the plants, the animals, humans and the dead and resurrected Christ.
Remember, you are a loved child of God. Praise Him, and share the Good News with others!
