Obituary – Sr. Gerarda Augustyniak
Sister Gerarda Augustyniak, 95, a sister for 78 years, died December 29, 2016 at Mary, Queen and Mother Center in St. Louis.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1921, she entered the Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in 1937 and professed perpetual vows in 1943.
Sister was certified in dietary administration and food service management. Sister Gerarda gave joyful service in that ministry until her retirement. She served in St. Louis, MO, St. Michael’s, AZ, Hinsdale, IL, West Monroe, LA, Sioux City, IA. In her last assignment she ministered as Food Service Manager for 13 years at the Villa St. Joseph Child Care Center in Ferguson,MO.
Sister Gerarda is preceded in death by her parents Eva (Jastrzembska) and Bronislaus Augustyniak and by siblings Leonard, Bruno, Edward, Mary Augustyniak, and Natalie Terry. She is survived by her sister, Jennie Wright.

A wake will be held at 4pm on January 3, 2017 in the Lally Room on the Carberry Campus, 7601 Watson Road, St. Louis, MO.
Funeral Mass will be at 5pm on January 3, 2017 in the Lally Room with burial at 9am at Resurrection Cemetery.
